A container of Fireworks ignited while in transit, the subsequent fire was hot enough to cut through the ships sides, thus causing its demise.
A Chinese ship was carrying a mixed cargo. The cargo contained fireworks which had not been declared as dangerous goods (once again - see also here). The fireworks decomposed starting a fire which lead eventually to the ship sinking.
- Once again we see the results of goods not being declared correctly for transit. we see only the results when things go wrong, but how many other items are being carried across the world with incorrect documentation?
