Hazards of working in the dark

Taken from news://sci.chem in response to a question on chemical accidents

In the photo lab, downstairs, the staff work in safe-light. There are open tanks of solutions everywhere and the humidity builds up. Condensation forms on the overhead aircon pipes and the guys continually dab the drips that fall on them. Meanwhile , upstairs, somebody knocks over a tank of silver nitrate solution. Downstairs, in safe light, they keep mopping the drips of "condensation" from their brows. Lunchtime comes and they go out in the sunshine, and the silver develops. They return looking like Apache warriors in war paint with grey comets artistically splattered over their faces. It takes weeks to fade.
